But how does it work? How is it efficient? Merely by its force? To the exteriority of desire corresponds the exteriority of repression. Therefore there is, on the one side, an exchangist system whose inscription in the unconscious entails a capacity for general� ized recuperation of any and all excesses and then, nevertheless, but quite foreign to this logic, a capacity for repression.
